Wakandan

Have you seen this movie? Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever --It's brilliant. So moving. But what does it have to do with investing?

As imagined in the Marvel Comic Universe, Wakanda is a mythical African country that has incredible wealth, mostly in its natural resources but also in its intellectual capital, the brainpower of its citizens, especially members of the royal family,

Generational African Americans don't have a single country to point to for our heritage. Being 'Wakandan' is a concept, a symbol of Black Excellence and Black Joy, that anyone reading this can understand. "Wakanda" represents the best of us. The film itself is helmed by a genius African American director, Mr. Ryan Coogler, and screenwritten by him and another brilliant Black man, Mr. Joe Robert Cole.

Of course, the leading actor of the first film, the late Mr. Chadwick Boseman, was also one of our greats. His early death in 2020 hit hard. This sequel does his memory proud.

If African Americans knew what country we hailed from originally, we would have a place to go back to visit, an embassy to appeal to on behalf of our rights, a flag to fly.

For now, I am happy to wear a sweatshirt bearing this movie's name, and to think about how to express excellence in my own life. And my company, MultiGenerational.Black is like...
