Wednesday December 7 would have been my father's 80th birthday. To honor him, and 35 years of philanthropy, the Reginald F. Lewis Foundation threw an event at the Harvard Club of New York, and it was great to hear stories of how my father inspired others.

In this post I talked about the concept of a 'personal Board of Directors.' While talking with a client who was also a fan of my father's, I told him--"my dad can be on your spiritual board of directors." The client was instantly taken by the idea.
The basic concept is: who are our ancestors, those who went before us, those who no longer walk on the earth but are present in our thoughts, and how might we let them support us today? On whose shoulders do we stand? How can we take inspiration from their life to help us in our lives now? What might they say if we had them 'on our board?' What if their spirit could still inspire us? Wouldn't that be nice?
"When someone you love dies, you gain an angel you know."
--Oprah Winfrey
How about you? Who might you have on your 'spiritual board of directors?' Have you had the feeling of someone good, watching over you? Let me know in the comments? and as always, thanks for reading this.

I love this. Your dad is definitely your angel, Leslie. Thanks for reminding us to give thought and thanks to our ancestor Angels.
